I can understand why this is frustrating! I think some people are just really loathe to resign when they can just "time out" and you get the win; now whether this is sportsmanlike or not we can debate until doomsday. I think this is just the way some players are...so at least you know you will win ...

May be, my answer may have caused some irritation. As a matter of fact I know Albert since several years on this site - as far as you can know somebody by his messages and postings. Albert is a very intelligent guy and will certainly become a great musician some day. I'm sure he knew perfectly well ...

Lousy question
Hey Albert, your last question was a really lousy one. What the hell has the number of squares to do with a repetition of moves? Please next time before asking look to the FIDE website first. I mean before asking where the holes in the Emmenthal (cheese) come from.

Just ridiculous
I followed the discussion concerning this fabulous player with a handle I don't like very much. If he wins against my friend David he must really be excellent. But does he need somebody else asking him to communicate with the mortals? This whole story is just ridiculous. Chess is not a game to be pl...

Amici Sumus is not a cover all excuse for failing to follow the rules nor should it outweigh the rules, rather it is a philosophy. One way to view it is to ask how you would handle a situation if it occurred in an important tournament game against your best friend. You would play hard but within bot...

To believe that a chess-engine might do to become a successful CC- or Email-player - even for somebody who doesn't know that much of chess - gives a pitiful evidence of your own understanding of chess. Nr. 1 of the world ranking list Ulf Andersson - everybody knows - is playing without any technical...

The actual programs available from ChessBase like Junior/Fritz8 or Shredder (the others are far less effective) are highly overestimated. Based on an experience of over 120 games in ICCF-tournaments (where using programs like the above mentioned is allowed) I can tell you that only in the hands of a...

You just can't play this defense like you did:-((1) Be7 is too slow 2) The Ng8 should be developed before Nb8 3) A critical square is d5 you made no move to control this square 4) you should never choose an opening-line like the Philidor if you've no ide...

Hi Greg,
if you send a message to aleinteg@yahoo.com ChessBase will include slowchess.com in their next ChessBase Magazine (No100) under the column: "Where you can play email chess for free"! That's what they say in CBM 99.
Best regards
